Abaco Scissor Clamp SC100 — Professional Stone Slab & Concrete Panel Lifter

On a retaining wall site, the moment that separates a smooth install from a chipped, cracked concrete sleeper or stone panel is usually the lift. After decades of handling concrete sleepers, stone slabs, and precast panels on Australian construction sites, we know that the right lifting clamp isn't optional — it's essential. The Abaco Scissor Clamp SC100 is the tool we trust for controlled, single-slab lifts where surface protection and grip reliability matter.

The SC100 uses a scissor-action clamping mechanism that tightens automatically as lifting force is applied — no manual adjustment mid-lift. The fully vulcanised rubber pads grip the slab face firmly while protecting the surface from marking or chipping, and the protective rubber jaw lining guards edges on finished stone, honed concrete, and tile products. An auto-lock release makes unclamping fast and repeatable during high-volume handling tasks.

Supplied complete with a swivel eye and bow shackle, the SC100 is ready to connect to a crane, gantry, or chain block straight out of the box. Replacement rubber pads are available separately, extending the working life of the clamp well beyond the initial purchase.

  • Bow shackle included — connects directly to crane hook, chain block, or spreader bar
  • Replaceable pads — extend clamp service life; replacement pads available from stock

Common Applications

  • Lifting and positioning concrete sleepers during retaining wall construction
  • Stone slab handling in benchtop fabrication and stone workshops
  • Concrete panel and precast element handling on civil and residential sites
  • Paver and tile handling in landscaping and hardscaping projects
  • Warehouse and yard slab movement at landscape supply depots
  • Construction material lifting where surface protection is required

Safe Use & WHS Compliance

Lifting operations in Australia are governed by the Safe Work Australia Model WHS Regulations and state-specific codes of practice. Key requirements for scissor clamp use include:

  • Lift one slab at a time only — never stack or double-lift
  • Verify material thickness and surface condition are compatible with the clamp before each lift
  • Inspect rubber pads before every use — replace worn or damaged pads immediately
  • Confirm the swivel eye, bow shackle, and all lifting equipment are rated to the load being lifted
  • Never stand under a suspended load — comply with exclusion zone requirements
  • Follow your site's Safe Work Australia Plant Risk Management Code of Practice

State WHS regulators: SafeWork NSW · WorkSafe Victoria · WorkSafe Queensland · WorkSafe WA

Australian Standards

Lifting accessories used on Australian worksites should comply with AS 4991-2004 Lifting Devices and the relevant provisions of AS/NZS 4600 Cold-Formed Steel Structures where applicable. Always verify that your complete lifting assembly — clamp, shackle, sling, and crane — is rated and inspected to the applicable standard.
