Galvanised Steel Fence Brackets for Retaining Wall Fence-on-Wall Installations

When a fence is required on top of a concrete sleeper retaining wall, purpose-built galvanised steel fence brackets are the correct fixing method. Bolting fence rails directly to sleepers or posts without proper brackets creates point loads, accelerates corrosion at contact points, and can compromise both the fence and the wall structure over time.

Our fence brackets are hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680, providing long-term corrosion resistance in Australian soil and weather conditions. They are designed to work with standard Colorbond fence rail profiles and timber fence rails, and are compatible with our 100 Series and 150 Series steel post systems.

Available Fence Bracket Types

• Heavy Duty Fence Bracket 75x10x400mm — for fence-on-wall installations where the fence rail sits proud of the wall face; suits Colorbond and timber fencing on standard and heavy duty post systems
• Cleat Fence Bracket — a compact cleat-style bracket for securing fence rails to steel posts; suited to lighter fence loads and standard residential applications

Installation Notes

Fence brackets should be fixed to the steel post, not to the concrete sleeper face. Post-mounted brackets distribute fence loads into the structural post rather than creating bending stress in the sleeper. Always use stainless steel or hot-dip galvanised fasteners to prevent galvanic corrosion at the fixing point.
