The deep alluvial clay on these sites is Class H1 reactive and generates lateral forces that 150 Series posts cannot resist at corners over the long term. Match the C-channel series to the H-beam series used in the main wall run.
C-channel posts can be used for short wall runs, but H-beam posts are structurally superior for the main wall run on Hobart's clay and slope surcharge sites. Use H-beam posts for the main run and C-channel posts at ends, corners, step-downs, and returns. On steep inner Hobart sites with slope surcharge, never substitute C-channel posts for H-beam posts in the main wall run.
