When to Use H-Beam Posts

H-beam UC posts are the correct specification for:

• Walls over 1.0–1.2m in finished retained height
• Walls retaining heavy clay, reactive, or waterlogged soils
• Walls with surcharge loads above — driveways, vehicles, structures, or buildings
• Walls near boundaries or structures where engineer certification is required
• Any wall where your structural engineer has specified UC posts

Why Hot-Dip Galvanised?

All H-beam posts are hot-dip galvanised as standard — the minimum specification for in-ground steel in Australian conditions. Electroplated or paint-coated posts are not suitable for in-ground retaining wall applications. Hot-dip galvanising provides a thick, metallurgically bonded zinc coating that resists corrosion in soil, clay, and coastal environments for decades.
