C-Channel 150 Series Steel Posts Brisbane & Queensland

C-Channel 150 Series Steel Posts for Retaining Walls — Brisbane & Queensland

The C-Channel 150 Series is the heavy duty channel post for retaining walls that exceed the capacity of the standard 100 Series C-Channel but don't require the full structural depth of an H-Beam. With a 150mm flange width and greater section modulus, the 150 Series C-Channel suits walls between 1.2m and 1.8m in stable, well-drained ground conditions across Brisbane and South East Queensland. Retaining Walls Direct supplies hot-dip galvanised 150 Series C-Channel posts direct to Brisbane builders, landscapers, and contractors, backed by over 40 years of trade experience.

Features & Specifications

  • Hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680 — corrosion-resistant in Queensland's subtropical conditions
  • 150mm flange width — significantly greater bending resistance than 100 Series C-Channel
  • Engineered channel profile accepts 75mm and 100mm concrete sleepers
  • Supplied in standard lengths — cut to embedment depth on site
  • Suitable for walls between 1.2m and 1.8m in stable, well-drained ground
  • Compatible with our full Brisbane and Queensland concrete sleeper range

When to Use C-Channel 150 vs H-Beam 150

The 150 Series C-Channel is appropriate when your wall is between 1.2m and 1.8m and ground conditions are stable and well-drained. However, if any of the following apply, upgrade to the H-Beam 150 Series:

  • The site has expansive black clay soils — common across Brisbane's western suburbs and Ipswich corridor
  • There is any surcharge loading above the wall — vehicles, structures, or steep slopes
  • Your structural engineer has specified H-Beam UC posts in their design
  • The wall is near a boundary, pool, or structure where failure risk must be minimised
