Drainage & Installation

All concrete sleeper retaining walls require adequate sub-surface drainage. We recommend 90mm ag pipe behind the wall with a 100mm clean gravel backfill and weep holes at 900mm centres to manage hydrostatic pressure — especially critical in clay-heavy soils common throughout Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Grade Selection Guide

• 40MPa — garden beds and low-load walls under 600mm
• 50MPa — standard residential retaining walls 600mm–1.2m
• 60MPa — engineered walls, surcharge loads, and walls exceeding 1.2m
