When your wall needs to work harder, the 200x100mm charcoal concrete sleeper is the right choice. At 25mm thicker than the standard 75mm sleeper, it delivers significantly greater bending strength — making it the go-to specification for taller walls, heavier soils, walls near driveways or structures, and any application where a standard sleeper isn't enough.

The charcoal finish gives you the same bold, contemporary look as our standard range — consistent colour throughout the mix, no surface coating, no maintenance required.

When to Choose 100mm Over 75mm

• Your wall will exceed 1.0m in finished height
• You're retaining heavy, wet, or clay-based soils
• There's a surcharge load above the wall — driveways, vehicles, structures, or stored materials
• The wall is on or near a boundary where failure could affect neighbouring property
• Your structural engineer has specified 200x100mm sleepers

Engineering note: For walls over 1.0m, near boundaries or structures, or with surcharge loads, always confirm specifications with a licensed structural engineer. Council approval may be required.

Compatible Steel Posts

For maximum performance on tall or heavily loaded walls, pair these sleepers with H-beam universal column steel posts. For medium-height walls in standard soil, C-channel PFC posts may also be suitable depending on your engineer's specification.

Don't Forget Drainage

Heavy duty walls typically retain more soil and face greater water pressure. Proper drainage is critical. Our retaining wall drainage kits include ag pipe, geotextile fabric, and weep holes — everything needed to manage hydrostatic pressure behind the wall.
